Stephen Miller

is a lyric baritone based in Chicago, IL, pursuing his Master of Music degree in Voice and Opera at Northwestern University.

Originally from Albuquerque, NM, Stephen was an avid performer from childhood, participating in numerous community and high school theatre productions. He was nominated for Best Actor in New Mexico’s Enchantment Awards for his role as George Banks in Cibola High School’s production of Marry Poppins.

Stephen moved to Las Cruces, NM in 2019 to pursue his Bachelor of Music degree in Voice Performance at New Mexico State University. While there, he studied voice with Sarah Neely, was a section leader in the University Singers ensemble, and participated in Doña Ana Opera Company’s scenes productions in roles such as Dr. Daly in Gilbert & Sullivan’s The Sorcerer and Papageno in The Magic Flute. In 2023, Stephen had the opportunity to originate the lead role of Goel in the world premiere opera Burden of Love by Lon Chaffin. After earning his degree in the winter of 2023, Stephen studied privately with Levi Hernandez.

In the Summer of 2025, Stephen moved to Chicago to attend Northwestern University where he studies voice with W. Stephen Smith. He has performed with Northwestern Opera Theater in the roles of Moralès in Carmen and Crebillon/Chorus in Puccini’s La Rondine and has been cast in the upcoming production of Matthew Recio’s The Puppy Episode as Clay (cover). Stephen is also a member of Bienen Contemporary/Early Vocal Ensemble and sang the Baritone Solo in Mendelssohn’s Psalm 115 with the Bienen School of Music combined choirs and NUSO. Stephen is a founding member of Archaic Invention, a modern baroque recording ensemble.
